Meet the Author
Hi, I'm Christina.
Some of the most important lessons I learned growing up
didn't come from being told what to do. They came from my
grandmother asking me to think about what I already knew.
Whenever I made a choice I shouldn't have, my grandmother
would talk it through with me. She'd eventually ask,
"What should you have did?"
And somehow, after talking it through, I'd always end up
telling her a better way I should have handled things.
Her answer was always simple:
"Well, you already know what to do."
Her words stayed with me.
She taught me that sometimes children don't need someone
to give them every answer. Sometimes they need a little
guidance, a little patience, and someone who believes they
are capable of figuring it out.
That's where Ari and her Granny come in.
I created Ari's Way: Adventures to Becoming a Big Girl
to give children a little piece of that experience—to watch Ari make mistakes, work through big feelings, and
discover that she has the ability to make good choices, too.
With a little help from Ari's Granny, I hope young readers
begin to recognize the same ability in themselves.
Sometimes, they just need a little help finding it.
Meet Ari
Ari is becoming
a big girl.
Ari is smart, spunky, curious, and determined
to become a big girl.
She's also learning that being a big girl isn't
always about getting your way.
"Sometimes it's about figuring out
the right way to get there."
